FRIDAY NIGHT SPEAKERS AND MASTERS OF CEREMONIES

Dr. Marilyn Chipman will be our Master of Ceremonies for both days. Dr. Chipman is actively involved both in the field of ministry and in education. She is an educational sociologist and a retired tenured professor of education who now serves as a full time administrator at Metropolitan State University of Denver. As a keynote speaker, author, consultant and trainer with expertise in the area of cultural equity from preschool through higher education, she provides assistance to teachers and district/state level personnel within a six-state region. She has spoken at conferences around the nation and overseas across lines of denomination, race, age, and social class and has authored books for Christian women. For many years Marilyn worked faithfully alongside her late husband, Pastor Aaron Chipman, fulfilling multiple roles within the church.
Dr. Wess Stafford will be sharing the value of “Knowing the Child” – Wess is author of “Too Small to Ignore” and “Just a Minute.” He is the former president of Campassion International. Compassion is one of the world’s largest Christian child sponsorship organizations, partnering with more than 60 demoninations and over 6,200 local churches to serve nearly 1.5 million children in 26 countries. Wess joined the staff of Compassion in 1977 and served for 20 years as president and CEO. As President Emeritus, he continues to “speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.” As a boy, the son of missionaries to the Ivory Coast, Wess was one of the village children watched-over by a wise and loving African “extended family.” His upbringing in Africa, volunteer and work experiences, and his affinity for working cross-culturally were all important threads that prepared Wess for his life’s mission of speaking up globally for the poor.

Dr. Russell Stands-Over-Bull brings the message; “Knowing my Brother.” Russell and his family are known as bridge builders and he has been ministering for 28 years. Russell and his wife Donna have worked with a number of ministries in various states in the US and in the United Kingdom. Dr. Stands-Over-Bull is on the leadership staff at Arrow Creek Christian Center located on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana and is employed as a scientist in the petroleum industry. He has dual residence in Golden, CO and Pryor, MT because he and his wife are involved with the Native American community in both locations.

They have experience building relationships between groups of different racial and cultural backgrounds. Russell’s passion is to build lasting unity in the kingdom. (Friday and Saturday)

Dr. M. Daniel Carroll Rodas shares “Knowing the Immigrant” Dr. Carroll celebrates his heritage from both Guatemala and the United States, is the author of “Christians at the Border.” He is the distinguished professor of Old Testament as Denver Seminary and is affiliated with a multitude of distinguished organizations including: the Evangelical Theological Society, Fraternidad Theológica Latinoamericana, and Evangelicals for Social Action. He serves on the international editorial boards of Religion and Theology (South Africa) and DavarLogos (Argentina), is a contributing editor to Prism (the journal of Evangelicals for Social Action), and an editorial consultant for Ex Auditu. He is also a national spokesperson on immigration for the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. (NHCLC) (Friday Evening)
Joseph Nsabimbona will share “Knowing the Refugee.” Joseph is the author of “Rescued; Endurance, Faith & Forgiveness” and former high-ranking government official in Burundi. Joseph fled the civil war and genocide in 1993. Joseph experienced, and can appreciate, his new life as a refugee – acquainted with the humble beginning of a life at the very bottom of society. At the very end of his rope, Joseph had to find his way out and his reason for living: Christ. Joseph had tried it and experienced it all…self-rescuing, failure, humiliation, desperation…and obviously, God had a plan for him. Joseph gained experience with an inner city church and in 2010 stepped out and founded the A La Source ministry. Working with his wife, Angeline, Joseph is helping refugees to find help – and hope.
