Understanding & Overcoming our differences through relationship.

SUPPOSEDLY, our understanding of others has improved lately… SO,

  • Why is TRUST crumbling and any opportunity for reconciliation being lost!
  • We are still hiding behind Ethnic & Cultural WALLS built on past wounds, offenses and ignorance. Our path is seemingly blocked by unforgiveness!
  • WE MUST ALL WAKE UP and REALIZE THAT NOW is the TIME for PEACE.
  • WE ARE ALL HUMAN and MUST DEAL WITH LIVING IN THE PRESENT.

ARE YOU FINDING MORE EXCUSES FOR DIVISION THAN FOR PEACE?

The DoYouKnowMe CHOIR is a wonderful opportunity to express your heart and bring healing to the soul!

Fostering Understanding in a Diverse Community

Community conversations offer a platform where everyone is invited to contribute. It’s a space where you can play an integral role in resolving differences, finding shared values, and getting to know your neighbors better. The aim is to cultivate relationships that can help bridge the gaps that exist within our community.

The cornerstone of this approach is the concept of love – love for God and love for our neighbors as we love ourselves. While this is rooted in Christian values, it’s crucial to stress that we don’t wish to create ANY barriers. We’re focused on embracing ALL of our neighbors, regardless of their faith, creed, or cultural background. The only condition is a mutual aspiration for peaceful coexistence. If we all make a concerted effort to truly understand those around us – setting aside our preconceived notions or stereotypes – we can shape our communities into better, more understanding places.

DoYouKnowMe.org is anchored on the belief that much of our current societal tension (which, in some cases, escalates into violence) stems from our reluctance to spend time genuinely understanding others in person. We aspire to promote in-person gatherings and attract individuals who primarily rely on social media for social interaction. It’s often easy to label others based on remote perceptions when we aren’t interacting face-to-face. Unfortunately, this prevents us from truly understanding them, as we choose the easier path over the complexities of real-world relationships. Yet, this lack of understanding is damaging our social fabric. As disciples of Jesus, we are encouraged to demonstrate this in our daily interactions with ALL people. It boils down to living out the fundamental commandment to love God and love people – EVEN those who may not align with our doctrinal beliefs or social labels.
